The Creative Process:: Kickstarter Anxiety

Tis the night before Kickstarter launch and  all threw my head the

voices warn me of impending doom.

My hopes are hung on the Kickstarter page

in hopes that Backers  soon be there.

I just might be acting like a child who full of fear, but

 my Visions for this project are now in jeopardy.

I am stressing when Alyssa takes care  to tell me to settle down and take nap.

When all of the sudden It dawns on me

there is no time for rest the Kickstarter

is about to begin, Its Kickstarter EVE!!!

     So you did it, you created a Comic book. In most cases it is almost done when your kickstarter begins.  You have read it so many times you can now recite it on command. The art has been looked over with a microscope and the lettering is about to begin.  So now the scary part, you need people to Back it.

    Unlike a store or a comic book shop there is nothing saying to a reader this comic has made it to the shelf so it must be worth the look.  In fact the comic isn’t even ready and if you do not fund it, it may never make it to a shelf.  In FACT READER I NEED YOU. PLEASE BELEIVE IN ME!!!

That’s how it feels setting up a Kickstarter. You are a hot mess of emotions.  Is my story good enough, am I good enough.  Will I fail.  How can I keep going if I fail?  Is The ART good enough am I ready to deal with the Rewards are my Rewards any good? And it just keeps going into a full strength anxiety attack.  The Kickstarter building kit should come with a brown paper bag to breath into.

           My up coming Kickstarter FETISH babies begun after writing this. And yes I am a  mess of emotions when I Think about it. But that is what Kickstarter is all about, passion and emotion.  It about that moment where you jump.  (Steve Harvey explains jump best here, credit to him for his message). Its your moment to say I am here!

I want you to understand it took a lot for you to get to Kickstarter.  You had to do what so many are still just talking about doing. You are making a DREAM, a PASSION come to life. You have already WON! Now you may not succeed in funding. You may fail at funding but that does not make you a failure.  That means you need to take a step back and see where it all  went wrong . Did you miss your audience? Did you not put yourself out there enough? After all Kickstarter is about investing in you as much as your work. Did you not have WrittenSins.com or a site like supporting you? Maybe you need to send out your story to people you trust have them read it and tell you if there I something wrong about. That moment of a missed opportunity  just becomes a learning tool.  It does not get to determine who you are.

          Kickstarting anything is hard to do but I will tell you this and it dam sure is the truth, not doing anything means you failed.  Trying to, putting yourself out their means your Succeeding.

   To you amazing fans understand Kickstarter isn’t a store its where new worlds are created.  It is that place where you find the new story you keeping asking for.  Its where you find tomorrows movies and TV shows today. These are the stories that stop the reboots and retelling of those same old stories. Kickstarter is the home of the answer to the demands for new material.  And you the FAN can make tomorrows epics start today.  You are  propelling creation  forward, towards a brighter tomorrow.  You are the producers of a brighter and more interesting future, And We Thank You for that.
