Mr Andersin Reviews The Shepherd

I had the Privilege of reading and now Reviewing The Shepherd:

THE SHEPHERD

A father’s despair over the loss of his son will put in motion a most unusual chain of events to save his son’s soul.

After Professor Lawrence Miller’s teenage son Val’s tragic death from a drug overdose, he cannot shake the sense that his son’s soul is lost and wandering between heaven and earth. Grieving and deeply disturbed, he makes a fateful decision to commit suicide, electing to pursue his son into the afterlife. Lawrence’s soul awakens and immediately encounters his deceased father who has arrived to greet him in order to help him transition over. However, Lawrence rejects his father’s offer, choosing instead to stay in the ‘seam,’ the middle ground between heaven and earth, so that he can find his son and seek retribution. Lawrence embarks on his search for Val, beginning at his son’s grave. But as Lawrence begins to wage a brutal campaign of retribution against those responsible for the drugs that killed Val, his existence becomes a terrifying conflict between his unchecked anger…and his instinctive knowledge that he has lost his own way.

The 7 Questions of Review

  1.   Was it worth the Cover Price?  The SHEPHERD Graphic Novel is priced at $19.99  and has all of the 1st 5 issue in one book.  Graphic Novels are often worth the money based on that  alone as they are a collection of issues. That alone, so Long as the story is good, makes it worth the cost. The Shepherd  is a Great story told extremely well so 19.99 is a deal.
  2.   Did it  leave me wanting a next Issue/continued story? Absolutely, I am in for the long haul after reading this  and I would love to see this story move on to another medium as well, such as a Netflix show or Movie.
  3.  Was  I  entertained and excited to turn the page? The Story while it does start slow very quickly gets you very interested in the characters and story. This is done through an EXTREMELY  very well written story and Dialogue to match.
  4.  Did the story get me emotionally invested? This is certainly a Story that will grab hold of you heart and takes you on a roller coaster of emotions. It explores what we think we want vs what we really need from life and even death.
  5. Were the characters relatable &  interesting? Yes! This story, honestly is written in a powerful way and in a way were you are overtaken by the characters emotions and in fact you get to experience the emotionally growth of the characters in a very real way.
  6.  Where there problems with the comic? No it was really well put together. I can say I see no problems with this comic. The Quality overall is outstanding and it matches the story in being a very well put together Creation worthy of  Praise and Fan Hood.
  7. Do I recommend this comic to  others  and what is the comics genre? Yes to anyone who will listen I will tell them this is a Comic to get and fall for.  As for Genre I am not sure it really has one.  It is its own story of morals that challenge your Ideas of what Life and Death are all about.
