What have you been a part of creating that you can’t help but brag about to anyone who will listen?

I’ve only done one comic so far, the one-shot horror comic, THE ORDER OF DRACULA, so that would be it.  Mostly because there is a lot going on behind the scenes in it and it probably requires multiple readings to appreciate it fully.  Don Cardenas and Rebecca McConnell also killed it on the interior art and Don and Kris Busini did likewise for the cover.

What Indie Title are you currently a huge fan of and recommend?

Paradox Girl (Hana Comics).  It’s hugely fun.

What is a Dream Project of yours??
I have something in mind that blends robots, vampires, corporate espionage, the 1980s, and US labor history, but I haven’t really worked out the details yet.

Is sexuality focused on too much in comic books?Depends which comic books you read.  As with anything, choose what comics you read wisely and according to your tastes and you will rarely be disappointed.

What is the worst thing a Villain can do to a Hero?
Force the hero to listen to a boring soliloquy.

Which Character is so overrated given the power you would kill off and why them?
Wolverine . . . wait, they already killed him off.

What is a mistake you made in your early years that our readers can learn from and not make themselves thanks to your advice?
I’m still in my early years (in experience, although not in age), but I’d say one thing writers and artists should do that they might forget about is to consider the letterer.  Don’t make too much dialogue or have characters appear in the panel in the opposite order in which they speak.  It’s a pain!

Well done  you have a single paragraph to tell us why we should become fans  and what you are working on now:

I started Heresy Studios, LLC, last year so that I could begin exploring liminal spaces between history and culture, fiction and nonfiction, and ideals and actions.  If that appeals to you, check us out!  We only do a few books per year but we’re hoping they’re quality!  I have two one-shot books and one miniseries in various stages of development now.  The first is BLESS THE CHILDREN, which is a horror story about Westward expansion that could be considered RAVENOUS meets THE SIXTH SENSE done in an art style borrowed from 1840s comic books.  The second is CAT & MOUSE, a horror story in which extreme Japanese game shows clash with Japanese folklore done in a manga style.  The third is THE CRUSADE OF DRACULA, which I’m still in the process of researching.  It is about Dracula’s attempt to overthrow the Ottoman Empire during the Great War and could be considered a mash-up of LAWRENCE OF ARABIA, THE THOUSAND NIGHTS AND ONE NIGHT, and the historical stories of both World War I and Vlad III Dracula.

Thanks!
