Life isn’t easy nor far. Its not meant to be and it’s in no race to take it easy on any of us. As creators, we talk about calibration but sometimes our calibrators are the ones that center us. Those who center us protect us from our doubts and lives challenges. For me my Wife of 7 Years has done that for me, centered and inspired me to be a better man. While its 7 years of marriage its 11 years of us being together this year. Our love has spanned decades. She has Co-Created a comic with me and given me the best gift a man can get, a son, ( A daughter would also have been just as good don’t get it twisted ) but more importantly, she has given me her heart. So to celebrate our 11 years together and 7 years Married I share something I wrote for her that I want to share with the world.

What are Vows but Ideals of a Perfect Marriage
But Vows forget that life happens
Vows forget about the human condition
There are no Vows that say to forgive
Each other for being human
And no vows that
say its ok to not be perfect
We live in an age of Expected perfection
When all we are is seriously flawed.
To honor and Obey sounds like
The Koolaid you drink right before you die
After seven years I can think of some better
Vows I would rather live by
I Vow to let you make mistakes and
Still be by your side after you make them
I Vow to call you out on your bullshit
Not to keep you down but to help you rise
I Vow to be vulnerable and honest with you
Even if it means your honesty may hurt me
I Vow to let love
Win over ego
I Vow to shut up and Listen
When all you need is my ear
I vow to be best Father and
Husband I can possibly be.
And I vow that my love for you is true
and has been only been growing
larger since the day we meet
