 Do you create your own costumes?

Nicole: I do indeed make my own cosplay! I started a few years ago and then moved into high level competition but now I just enjoy making things and bringing the characters I love to life.

BATWOMAN:Cosplay??? My outfit is not a costume! I think it is a serious part of my identity as a well… I guess hero… but I see myself as more of a soldier. And to answer that not really, the credit goes to my father for that.

How did you feel about BATWOMANS onscreen Debut?

Nicole: Mixed…… I loved the artwork and the voice acting but some of the facts got really mixed up. I know that she needed to fit into a new on screen world so I try to treat it as a different origin story but the first one in Elegy was the best and the onlytrue universe for Batwoman.

BATWOMAN: I’m is in a movie?? Well, well, Batman better watch out before a leading lady steals his Gotham spotlight away.

What is your next Costume gonna look like?

Nicole: Oh lord I have tooo many ideas and not enough time for all of them! I’m actually thinking of making a superwoman outfit for the next event here is Aus but we will see how I go.

BATWOMAN: I have been meaning to beef up the look, I wouldn’t say no to a Kevlar armour upgrade. Maybe even a new mask design?

Do you have a special workout routine/Diet plans you follow when planning to wear the costume??

Nicole: Is eating junk food and playing PlayStation a work out?? Because that’s all I do!!!! Besides sitting in of the computer most of the time for both my jobs the only exercise I do is Pokémon go! But I do try to eat healthy which helps.

BATWOMAN: Training is strict and rigorous. I do weights, running, army drills and mediation though I admittedly do binge on food but sushi is a staple in my life.

How do you deal with the inappropriate touching at comic cons?

Nicole: Ha! I’m the one usually doing it but only to those I know well. I have loads of friends at conventions that I usually only see there especially artists and writers so a chance for a hug is a must! But if I hear or see anyone being inappropriate I am a huge ambassador of sticking up for those people. I have seen some terrible things go down at conventions and have stepped in to stop bad behaviour and inappropriate people many times over the years.

BATWOMAN: I am the solider of Gotham, if I see anything that I deem as inappropriate my shadow will inspire then to stop and re think before I become involved.

Do you think it is OK for Cos players to Charge for pictures and why ?

Nicole: Nope I think that something like that should be given as a gift to those who respect and look up to them. I have never charged nor will charge for pictures all people have to do is ask me ^^. If you work for a magazine or website, different story, but no cosplayer is better than the next if they are in it for fun and not money.

BATWOMAN: People charge for pictures? They do know that porn is free online right?

What is the worst Costume malfunction you have faced and how did you handle it ??

Nicole: That was a hard one, I usually don’t get them as I make sure to test run the outfit before I take it somewhere. The only two I can think of is my giant Rainbow Dash wings that sat on my back and by the end of the day became so heavy I had to double strap them to hold the weight and my contacts for Batwoman, I was up on a 5 story building in high winds pretty much as bind AS a bat with them in.

BATWOMAN: High heels. These should never EVER be worn as practical parts of an outfit. Those went away very quickly.
