Why did you feel you need Kickstarters help to launch your project and will your goal if reached cover all the creative costs?

Kickstarter is multipurpose for us, for one it’s a great way to build a following in addition to social media pushes and twitter binges, but it’s also a way to let our fans get involved and do something extra. One of our tiers is for a KS exclusive cover. We aren’t printing a set number of covers for that, we’re printing *exactly* as many as we have backers for, and they’ll be hand numbered by Kitty and I with the backer’s backer number, so it’s special. You can’t just hit our first con and pick up a left over copies, they’re *only* available via kickstarter. That’s a unique opportunity that it’s difficult to achieve via other means. It’s also hecka expensive to produce a professional quality comic, so there’s that too lol. The 6k will definitely get us squared away for this book. Ideally, we’d like to bust a couple of stretch goals to pay for the art on the next one as well. Daniel Strickland has done an amazing job on the pencils on this book, we want to turn him loose on pencils and inks so I can focus on other projects that Kitty and I have in the fire for Element Comics.

How did the creative team behind this Kickstarter Come together?

Well, ironically, the creative team came together about 10 years ago to do a web comic called… Ten2Midnight. It ran for about 3 years and we had about 5 comic books worth of pages done when we finally had to quit due to time constraints. During the interim the writer (Kitty Pierce) and I got married and worked on a few other projects together. She rewrote the story from the web comic, cleaning it up and adding a lot of great things to it, and now we’re working to put it out in a traditional format.

What do you believe separates your Kickstarter from the thousands of other Kickstarters out there?

That’s a tough question. It takes drive, determination, and passion to whip out a comic book. We’re trying to make our lead times as small as possible, and to make sure our backers get stuff that’s as cool as possible. But so many of us are fighting for the same thing, with the same drive… I’d feel like I’d be disparaging the other awesome folks out there if I said we were better or more hard working or more determined. We’re just prettier, that’s all 😃

Is the Kickstarter the Start of something Bigger or is this a must have One Shot?

Definitely something bigger. This particular story arc is going to be at least 7 issues long, but Kitty’s got plots and story ready for continued stories all around the world once that arc ends with different survivors, guest spots from old ones… it’s going to be great.

Are Stretch Goals something important to your project or just your way to give back to the Backers?

Definitely important. If we can make it to our 9k stretch goal, the art for the next book is covered and we can start work on it immediately, which means issue 2 will be available even faster. We’ve got some really cool stretch goals from nicer covers to challenge coins, and even an artist here in Fort Lauderdale who wants to make a soundtrack for the book, so there’s plenty to stretch for!

If you saw this project, pretending it wasn’t yours what would do you think of it and how you would react to it and Why?

I’d be intrigued by the concept and would probably back it if it wasn’t my project. I can answer that pretty easily since it was Kitty’s project long before it was mine 😃 Kitty’s story is phenomenal. It’s got deep characters, and fantastic ideas. The plot is twisting and winding. Just when you’ve got something figured out, you’re wrong. The art by Daniel Strickland is amazing and fun (I’m hoping my inks do it justice), and it’s professional looking. We’re printing through KrakenPrint and doing offset printing, so it will look and feel just like a big 2 book.

What is the inspiration behind this project?

I’ll give you a quote from the KS for that: “ The concept for Ten2Midnight came up from an assignment issued to Kitty Pierce to champion her fears and anxieties during therapy for PTSD and General Anxiety Disorder. The setting became a place where they could be compounded and faced or failed, depending on the need which twisted into a story.” The emotions in this story are very real, and the characters come from a deeply personal place, so the read is raw and real.

Ok those are 7 Great REASON so Give em that Elevator Pitch,  Creator:

Without warning, the sun went black. Out of that darkness crawled creatures and monsters from your worst nightmares, and some you’d never even bothered dreaming of. Humanity has already taken a hit, completely unprepared for this invasion. Now, those that are strong, those that are brave, they’re fighting to survive in a world gone mad, and those that aren’t, are just hoping they can hide long enough to live. You’ll follow several groups of survivors as they try to find their place in this brave new world and stop this terror before it’s too late!
