Homeward is a sci-fi comic book for youth. .

Hello!
My name is Francis and I wanted to share this project with you. It’s something I’m doing with my collaborator, Laurence Dea Dionne Art.

Homeward is our sci-fi comic book for youth. We’re funding the printing and production of Book 1 Discovery! It’s the story of two kids who grow up in space and are raised by their robot spaceship! It explores the themes of belonging and what makes us human.

Once it’s published, we hope to visit schools, libraries and scout’s groups to show it to kids and lead workshops with them about our themes.

We’re super excited to show you this project and we really hope you will like it! If you like what you see, there are two things you can do to help make it a success!

1- Contribute!
2- Share! (Through Facebook, Instagram, email your friends and family and word of mouth!)

HAVE A GREAT DAY !!

About the project

Life in space is all that Fred and Bert have ever known.

It’s time to go home.
____________________________________________________________________

Homeward is a sci-fi comic for youth about belonging, describing the adventure of two young teens who grew up in space and are looking to return homeward, to Earth. Of ten episodes, already written by the author Francis McNamee, the first will be published in July 2018. The pages have already been drawn by the illustrator Laurence Dea Dionne. The comic will be finished by the end of May 2018.

We are looking for support to print this first volume of Homeward.

About the project owner

 ILLUSTRATOR

  Laurence Dea Dionne

I have been interested in art since I was born. I hold a Bachelor’s in Art Education from Concordia University, in Montreal, my hometown, and taught in public schools and community centers until a life-changing depression forced an important career change. Since 2015, I have settled at the Lounak Studio among other comic artists, and have self-published my first graphic novel, Nuances, about important social issues. I plan to continue to promote well-being through my next works, Zen & the Ephemeral, and Homeward.

   AUTHOR

Francis McNamee

I’m an aspiring writer from Montreal. I also work at TD Insurance and volunteer both as a scout leader and a beekeeper (just starting the bee keeping!) I studied English Literature and Sociology at Concordia University and now I’m trying to make my start as a professional writer. In writing, I explore the human condition and the marriage between reality and absurdity. Homeward is my first collaborative project, and my first project for youth
