How do you as a Jack of all traits creator and a woman feel about how female characters are portrayed in 2016?
Elated! Ecstatic! I am loving all the depths of characters coming out on tv or movies. The broad range we are getting to see from the comic world. Characters that I never would have dreamed even seeing in my life are getting attention and the portrayal they deserve.
In the comic world we are seeing more and more creators lean more towards fierce and independent woman with a good story rather than solely relying on the sex sells gambit. Are there still variant covers and fan art.. pssh always but the stories are there, it is really nice to see that being in the forefront.

What Character do want to reinvent for the better given the choice of any already invented?
Dazzler. Given the nostalgia for shows like Jem, I would love to write for Dazzler, was always a favorite character for me.
Does how Females characters are over sexualized bother you??
I, like anyone else can appreciate good art. I just think there should be a line drawn between good art and porn. I don’t mind skin showing, but as a mom I also want to be able to share these characters with my daughter, time should be spent delving into character and story. Not explaining the impossibility of not popping out in a swatch while doing a roundhouse.

What bad habits do you think creators do when dealing with female characters?
I cannot speak for other creators but for me it is hard not to use myself as a model for characters. It becomes a what would I do in this situation.
Should the Fanboys and internet roars be taken serious? After all they said Ben Affleck couldn’t be a good Batman and Health Ledger was going to be a bad Joker.
You know this is a tossup, sometimes fan service can be a good thing. Listening to the fans helped stop Ivan Ooze from being in Xmen. But there are times when rebooting, revamping, reimagining helps a series. At the end of the day you just cannot make everyone happy. For me as a creator, as an avid movie lover, and for someone who loves canon whether it is book to movie or video games, comics; If you are showing passion for it and are showing your love for the material then we are good.

What is left on your creative bucket list?
Allot, I never want to stop growing or learning. Never stop creating and bringing things to life even if just for me, to prove to myself that I can do it. I have a list with my insane goals of one day affording Alex Ross (who doesn’t) to working on Lady Death with Brian Pulido, but more than anything I am just grateful to do what I do and to get to share that with my family.
What TV show if you could bring and be on the creative would you bring back!
