Veritas is a detective noir set in a modern day dark age; the year 2046. A war hero, a hacker, a scientist and a revenge stricken brawler risk their lives to expose an ugly truth.

Advocacy is at the heart of all Chadwin Taylor’s artistic endeavors. A compelling fictional story can shed light on dark real life issues. Each character in the story represents a pressing social challenge that plagues our culture today. Issues that range from combat related post traumatic stress and sexual abuse to political corruption and racism. The scope of the project is a 12 issue mini-series. Each issue will be 28-32 pages. Veritas is geared at an adult audience.

Issue #1 explores the nightmare spawned by combat related post traumatic stress. Ben, a former Marine, wakes to hideous burn scars and the mental image of a little girl he saved in Afghanistan. Hope is lost on the cold violent world around him until a shred of justice crosses his path.

Money raised with this Kickstarter will pay the illustrator and the colorist as well as finance prints for the rewards. The long term goal is to adapt Veritas into a web television mini-series.

Pending we reach our $5,000 Kickstarter goal, Issue #1 and Issue #2 will be available on October 1, 2018. The stretch goal of $50,000 will finance the entire mini-series.

Currently completed is a 14 page sample of issue #1, a 108 page treatment that outlines the entire 12 issue graphic novel, and additional character biographies & illustrations.

Original music has been created to better immerse readers into the story. “Ballad of Ben” and “Raised Bladez” by EbGb, created for issue #1, is available on Apple Music, Spotify, Pandora and YouTube.
