“There is no such thing as a bad boy.” – Father Flanagan.

The premise behind the creation of Boys Town a century ago is not far removed from our attitude about comics. There are no BAD characters, just characters that have been handled badly. Most of the characters we’ve adopted that form the core of SECTION M have long been deemed to be among the WORST in the history of the industry. Granted, their creation was not so much inspiration as an attempt to cash in on the revived interest in super heroes that came with the Batman TV series and the rise of Marvel Comics. Their books were quickly cancelled due to the craze fading quickly and the readers seeing that the titles were merely cash grabs. Eventually, as the publishers got out of comics and broken up by parent companies, the characters were abandoned. Seeing that germ of potential, SECTION M was born.

We’ve gathered those orphaned “Monster Heroes”, to bring you NEW adventures of FRANKENSTEIN, DRACULA & FLEETA, WEREWOLF, NUKLA, and POLYMER POLLY of “The Fab Four”, at long last revealing what happened beyond the handful of issues released in the 60s.

Far from a “grim and gritty” take on the characters, SECTION M is old school action in vein of The New Teen Titans, All Star Squadron, The X-Men and Avengers. After being presumed lost on a mission for decades, the heroes have been revived and are trying to make their way in the 21st Century while moving into the role of taking over for the generation of heroes that would have replaced them.

SECTION M has received interest from publishers and we’re moving forward, but there are expenses that have to be covered before any deals can be made. To that end, and to start building word of mouth on the book, we are offering this special “Graphite Edition” of the first issue, spotlighting the pencils of Ron Joseph (IDW’s REVOLUTION:ROM, REVOLUTIONARIES, and MICRONAUTS: WRATH OF KARZA). The book will also feature bonus material reintroducing the characters and their backstory. And if that’s not enough, we also will have rewards based on both the old and new looks of the characters.
