Solo: A Star Wars Story Review

Yes, I am biased! Yes, I love all things Star Wars!

Directed by Ron Howard Solo takes us to the beginning of Han’s story. Where he came from. While a lot of critics say that it flopped in cinemas the goal was for the movie to be a thrilling roller coaster of Han’s origin story; the goal was not to create a rocket of galactic war like we’ve seen before.  Solo was action-packed, fun and developed memorable characters.  The special effects were outstanding.

Han Solo, played by Alden Ehrenreich, in my opinion, was a good choice. Personally, the actor choice for me would have been someone a little taller, but I am by far an expert on casting and I am certainly not Disney or LFL. Lando, played by Donald Glover, on the other hand, was an exceptional actor choice. I thought he played and portrayed our Lando perfectly.  Kira, played by Emilia Clarke, was beautiful yet cunning. I think it’s a no-brainer for Beckett, played by Woody Harrelson…cause I mean come on!!! Who doesn’t like Woody! And we even got an exciting look at Chewie!!!

Give this movie a chance…Was it the Star Wars feel like we were expecting? No. But was it supposed to be? No.  In addition, I think that Solo fills in several gaps for Star Wars.

On an even more exciting note, there are many many many more Star Wars cosplays to arise from this movie. Look out DragonCon….there will be many Solos coming to see you in September.

Last Note: 2 words:   Darth Maul……
