Story
Samantha, a young teenage wallflower, discovers a dark and powerful form of Filipino folk magic called Kulam. Harnessing its dark power, Samantha takes revenge on those who have wronged her and to change her life for the better. But the more Samantha uses the Kulam, the more things seem to go bump in the night.
Get involved and help back Hawaii’s own supernatural horror comic. The Rainbow state is about to get dark!
What We Plan to Do
The Hexing will be a thirty two page black & white, four part comic-series. Each issue will be fully crowd funded. Majority of the first issue is already done. The money raised will help pay for an inker to add tones, printing issue 1, and starting production on The Hexing Part 2: Fire with Fire.
The Impact
By backing our project, you will help make the first supernatural horror comic, set entirely in Hawaii. Not only are we making a horror comic, but we are introducing readers to a new world, rarely seen in print. Exploring a more urban and gritter side of Hawaii. With characters that are true and authentic to the local people of Hawaii. Yet, compelling for all readers to relate too.
Risks & Challenges
One of the greatest risk to any crowdfunding is never getting your rewards. Our campaign is unique in the sense that majority of our comic is done. We just need to get it into your hands! It will not take long to make our changes and send your comic to the printer.
To ensure that your prizes arrive on time, we will be shipping our rewards with USPS Flat Rate Boxes so that your package is insured and has a tracking number.
Some of the companies we are using to print our rewards are. Kablam Digital Printing, Budsies, Greco Printing, Teelaunch, and Pure Buttons. Each of these companies have a history of creating quality products and delivering on time.
