THE PROJECT

In February 2018, our creative team wrapped production on the second issue of the White Lily miniseries. We’re excited to bring you the next installment of this story, along with Kickstarter-exclusive content. This issue spans 23 full-color pages of story.

Just prior to the launch of this Kickstarter, death unexpectedly claimed a member of our creative team, penciler Lovalle Davis. We dedicate this project to his memory.

THE STORY

This issue is the second installment in a five issue miniseries, about the two deadliest scoring female fighter pilots in history.

“White Lily” was the aviator call sign (translated from Russian) of the world’s highest scoring female fighter ace, Lydia “Lilya” Litvyak. Also featured is her wing man, Yekaterina “Katya” Budanova, who was the only other woman to earn the title of “Ace” fighter pilot.

Both of these incredible women flew for the Soviet Union in the war against Nazi Germany in the early 1940’s.Our story follows their battles both in the air, and on the ground.

In this issue:

They are officially drawn into the shooting war over Stalingrad as the Russian situation becomes more desperate.
