Why Do We ask Permission to Cover Creators and TOS for this site Annual Reminder and UPDATES

Why Do We ask Permission to Cover Creators

We are aware that anyone who posts things publicly on social media now become fair use to at least Screenshot and can be reused. We wanted to have a higher standard. By making sure Creators Ask us to Cover their projects we never worry about anything, and if we are asked to take something down we do instantly. This is a Standard we are proud of and it eliminates people saying we took or did something without permission. That simply is not true. We may cover something cause part of the team asks us to and another part might be “Upset” and in such a situation we nicely tell the person who asked us to post it and ask them to reach out to that person and to get back to us on what they want. While it hasn’t happened if a person insisted to have it removed and they where the IP holder of the project we would obey.

Now to make things even more transparent we show users who contact point is for the story and even have added that to the Crowdfunding Report.  We strive to have integrity in all The Advocating we do. This is not a policy update at all but merely us reminding people who we are.

NO MORE FAN ART

This was a difficult decision to make as we enjoy Fan Art. The end result of this call was simple, Did Fan Art help Promote INDIE ARTISTS? We found it did not. Often we are asked about an artist who has done work on an original comic and not about a FAN ART piece.  We would rather spend our time being Indie Focused plain and simple.

COSPLAY no More

We have stopped covering cosplay.  This is due to 2 reasons: 1 People on Social media, A very small amount, Framed us as trying to take advantage of cosplayer for site hits. This is Against who we are.  We Never looked at it that way and where Upset to be categorized as that. 2 A TOxic Culture around Cosplay has Risen.  We began gettingemails detailing facts about Cosplayers. We were even told to not allow Cosplayer on our site. This Became a Distraction for our site and took the focus off Indie Comics & that is not what we want.
