I posted an Article below that almost claims victory to the fact that a Character is Queer. It’s is a good article with some good facts but I want to chime in or a min as Wonder Woman is kinda of a big deal to me.
1st Wonder Woman is not GAY, or a Lesbian but rather Bi-Sexual. Like many people on this planet she chooses a mate on who she likes not what team they are on. Amazon women where Gay. In fact I once read a story where amazon women would capture men rape them and kill them after just so they could have children. Fiction of course but the idea of Amazon women being gay is far from new.
Wonder Woman was kicked out for helping a outsider male. Now this is something to think about; If amazons on her island are lesbians and they saw her flirty with a man showing a Bisexual side I could see why she was kicked off the island. This could have been a very early message of intolerance of sexuality put in by the creator all those years ago.
Now the Creator himself Was heavy into Bondage and alternative lifestlyes. Bondage is the acting of tying up another person and is something that most people want try but are afraid of the stigma or enjoy doing it. However if they do it, to this day most of them hide that from the people around them. It can be and is used against a person in this day and age. So way back in the first few years of Wonder Woman she was forced to role play in the comics half of the time or be bound and spank or be spanked. In fact the Creator is credited for making a lot of people with the bondage fetishies become self aware of it at an early age. The Creator named William Moulton Marston was rumored to be living with two women. This was 75 years ago remember.
SO WONDER WOMAN was always suppose to be about progressive sexual behavior and relationships. For those who think Sexuality is a choose understand no matter how you feel about it there is little choice involved in the matter. The only choice is will I be who I am or Do I have to hide it. I hope no one hides who they are.
So sorry, no for now outside of a rewrite WW is not a lesbian, but she is Gay and Queer and Straight its called Bi Sexual. She has always been her own Woman and that’s why shes a wonder And I do hope they do explore that side of her one day soon. Would not her to see he spanking the bad gal again ethier.
